August 2010 MWHN MAGAZINE Where Women Empowering Women Through Networking! " The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen, not touched, but are felt in the heart ." HELLO all you Amazing Women! As usual, we have some very interesting articles, wonderful ads, announcements, check out who's been in the news and so much more. Simply "flip" through the pages and read what our members are doing. ********************* Decision Time..... After 23 Years of existence, MHWN has proven that we can withstand almost everything. And, there is always a but.... It's time to acknowledge the changes that have been going on this year. Due to the economy and various other issues, we must look at the cold reality of the future of MHWN. It is with heartfelt sadness, that I must say, we have "run it's course." and MHWN will be ending the 23 year run with this month's magazine. Many of you know that I have been looking for a good replacement for me as my life has radically changed. Carol Dewar stepped up to the plate to help out with the website. I needed a person who could take over all the other duties for me. That didn't happen. I needed a lot of help and Carol was the only one that was willing to help on a continuous basis. The concept that MHWN was founded on was unique because of the outstanding leadership of it's founders, Barbara Picard. But things have changed. Between the economy and other factors, our attendance at the meetings have been low. Plus the renewals are low as well. We cannot survive in the red. So, rather than wait for that to happen, and I would once again have to use my own money, I am saying goodbye to a wonderful run. I will miss the meetings and the wonderful group of ladies that have attended. We have been a unique organization but the times have changed and we must acknowledge that. Please forgive me for not wanting to "hold out" for a brighter day. I have my own unexpected financial issues that need immediate attention. This month's magazine will remain up on the site for a month. This is the last issue. I am going to miss all you - you have been the Rock of Gibralter for me. But, with a heavy heart, I must say goodbye. ********************* Special thanks goes to CAROL DEWAR for helping with the new design of our site, "cleaning up" pages that needed a "little TLC" and her unbelievable amount of patience.
