Mid-Hudson Women's Network Rocks!
A Little Background...
The Mid-Hudson Women's Network was founded in June, 1988 by Barbara Picard and Christine McDonnell. Barbara and Christine were co-Directors until 1996.
From 1996 to 2004 Barbara Picard single-handedly managed the Mid-Hudson Women's Network. Through Barbara's leadership and organizational skills she was able to increase the membership from a few inaugural members to over 200 members. In 2004, Barbara stepped down from the position of Director. Today, Barbara is involved in the organization in the capacity of MHWN Special Advisor and Honorary Life Time Member, assisting it in continuing to be successful in every way.
Cathy Maloney became Director and led the organization until the end of 2005. Juggling both full-time employment and the full-time job of managing Director for MHWN proved to be a challenging task. MHWN membership extends continuing gratitude to Cathy for her dynamic leadership.
Karin Janin then stepped in to fill the position in 2005. She looks forward to the new year and the experience of working with many creative and talented women. When Karin moved to New York from Texas she knew no one except her new husband. So she decided to join an organization where she could not only let others know about her business, but could make new friends as well. The MHWN provided everything and more for her — friendships, opportunities to network and time to simply have fun! This concept of having fun, networking and friendships will always be a continuing goal for the MHWN.
